Two Major Wind Projects Set to Transform WA's Energy Landscape
Western Australia is poised for significant growth in wind energy, with Synergy selecting Vestas to drive the development of two key projects:
1. Warradarge Wind Farm Expansion:
30 additional turbines to be installed.
Capacity to increase by 103MW, powering 164,000 households annually.
$400 million project set for completion by 2027.
Managed by Bright Energy Investments, a joint venture between Synergy, Cbus Super, and CVC DIF.
2. Kings Rock Wind Farm:
17 turbines to generate up to 105MW of renewable energy.
Enough to power 70,000 homes in WA’s south-west.
Scheduled for operation by 2027.
Expected to create 200 construction jobs, boosting the regional economy.
A Vision for WA’s Energy Future
Western Australian Minister for Energy, Reece Whitby, emphasized the state’s commitment to clean, reliable, and affordable energy. He highlighted the role of wind, rooftop solar, battery storage, and gas in ensuring a secure energy system for the future.
With these projects, WA is cementing its leadership in renewable energy, ensuring a sustainable and resilient power supply for generations to come.
