Pacific Energy, a leader in distributed clean energy, is extending its reach to Australia's east coast, leveraging over 40 years of expertise in renewable energy.

Remote Power Solutions Driving Growth in the National Energy Market

Remote Power Expertise

With 868MW of power capacity across 49 remote sites in Western Australia, Pacific Energy has been a pioneer in delivering off-grid clean energy. Their bespoke solutions address the unique challenges of supplying reliable energy to isolated areas. Managing Director Mark Sinclair highlights that Pacific Energy's in-country manufacturing equips them to provide robust, tailored technology for even the most remote regions.

Expanding to the East Coast

Pacific Energy launched Pacific Energy Connected (PEC) in May 2024, recognizing opportunities in Australia's decarbonizing energy system. This expansion will bring their innovative renewable technologies, including support for green hydrogen projects, to the National Energy Market (NEM). According to Mr. Sinclair, these technologies, developed in remote environments, are ideal for integrating more renewable energy into the grid on the East Coast.

Key Projects

Among the company's new ventures is a 26MW hybrid power system for Tronox’s Atlas–Campaspe mine, combining solar, battery storage, and diesel generation. This project alone will cut diesel usage by nearly five million liters annually, reducing emissions by around 13,000 tonnes.

Additionally, Pacific Energy is working on expanding Australia’s first hydrogen refueling station in Canberra. Collaborating with the ACT Government, Toyota, and Hyundai, this project aims to enhance hydrogen production and infrastructure to support a growing fleet of hydrogen-powered vehicles.
