New CEO Takes the Helm

ENGIE has appointed Shannon Hyde as the new CEO for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), succeeding Rik De Buyserie, who will now lead ENGIE’s operations in North Africa. Hyde, who has been with ENGIE since 2010, previously served as the youngest-ever CEO of Simply Energy before its rebranding to ENGIE.

Key Executive Transitions

The leadership shake-up also includes the retirement of Graeme York, Chief Operating Officer for Generation, after more than 30 years in the energy sector. His career spanned leadership roles, including as CEO of the Hazelwood Power Station in Victoria’s Latrobe Valley.

Stepping into the role of Managing Director of Generation is Frederik Baerts, former President and CEO of Senoko Energy in Singapore, where he led a 2.6GW power operation. Meanwhile, Anna Quillinan, Chief Development Officer for Net Zero Energy Solutions, is departing after six years of spearheading ENGIE’s electric vehicle infrastructure and clean energy initiatives.

A Strong Future for ENGIE ANZ

Hyde expressed enthusiasm for leading ENGIE’s continued growth, emphasizing its pivotal role in Australia’s energy transition. “We are at the center of a net-zero future, and I look forward to expanding our impact,” he said.

With these leadership updates, ENGIE is reinforcing its commitment to sustainable energy solutions in ANZ.
